  • Dear Guardians,

We have decided to hold online classes for classes V and VI from 25th April, 2022 to 13th May, 2022. The classes will be of 30 minutes duration each with a break of 10 minutes between classes to provide the required rest to the young eyes, mind, and body.

This has been necessitated because of the Board Examinations (ICSE & ISC) scheduled to be held during this period.

Offline classes will resume for all from 15th June 2022, when the school reopens after the Summer Vacation.

Thanking you and taking a step further on the path of student-centric pedagogy, I remain in commitment.

  • Dear Guardians,

In the post-pandemic era which has just begun, we the members of the SXI Family have felt the urgent need for re-evaluation of values and methods to follow which will help all of us in ushering in the new dawn.
With that objective in mind, a meeting of all concerned has been arranged on the 13th March, 2022 at 5.30PM in SXI Panihati where we will discuss the various doubts and questions clouding our consciousness and find out ways to go forward, together.

So, all the students aspiring to get admitted in Class XI along with the guardians are most cordially invited to be part of the decision-making process that will surely affect the future.

Trusting in your full-fledged cooperation as always, I remain.
    In anticipation,

Dear Children and Respected Guardians,

The changed circumstances that we find ourselves in today have brought about quite a lot of changes in the way we conducted ourselves. This is the time to introspect and come up with innovative solutions and ways of carrying on our day to day activities. Technology helps us in a big way in this endeavour. Thus, we have been exploring possibilities in the process of delivering education in the time of isolation. We came up with the idea of online classes. Since we have imposed isolation on ourselves, this is a way through which we the SXI Family can keep in touch, too.

Our teachers are trying to put in every possible effort to make the classes as interesting as we make them in the classrooms. I have utmost confidence in their capabilities. The teachers are taking necessary steps to complete the syllabi in time even though the times are tough .

May our journey towards light be eternal.

Meanwhile , please stay indoors and enjoy a healthy life.

Thanking you,

Yours in empathy,

Lipika Ghosh

My dear and respected fellow travellers on the path of enlightenment, I welcome you aboard the ship of learning that will take us all through this never ending quest. Fasten your seat-belts and join us on one of the most interesting and exhilarating, excruciatingly painful yet ecstatically joyous adventure named Human building.
You have been through the pain of childbirth, the excitement of the child’s first step. The revelation of the first spoken word and the grand renewal of yourselves inherent in your child’s first day at school. Through all the breathless waits and sleepless nights you spent for your child, you have reached here today and like so many years in the past, the SXI family is here to share the baton with you on the next leg of the eternal relay race against time that is building up of the Human Being who lies hidden in the raw clay that the children are.

As comrades-in-arms on the mission of instilling the right values in our children, I feel duty-bound to reiterate some basic facts if only to remind ourselves the steps we must take in order to reach the goal. As all of us are aware, success in any endeavor depends mostly on the grades of discipline, dedication and desire to succeed on the part of the person. Out of these, discipline is the most important factor. To inculcate the basic value of discipline in our children, we need to be strict and stand our ground firmly at times. We have certain rules designed just for this purpose. These must be followed in spirit and letter in order for the character of the children is built up the right way.

First and foremost is attendance at school. Every student must have a minimum of 75% attendance at school, failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear in the annual examinations. I request all of you to take this matter seriously and ensure the requisite percentage of attendance of your ward. No request for exceptional consideration in this matter will be considered later.

All of you have chosen to admit your children in this school with the purpose of obtaining education for them in English. As part of our continuous endeavor to impart education through the medium of English, it has been made mandatory for everyone to use English as the medium of communication inside the school. Please see to it that your wards conform to this rule with all sincerity.

The use of mobile phones, abusive or unparliamentary language and narcotic substances inside the school is prohibited very strictly.

All these are to ensure that the future citizens of our country grow up as the ideal human beings that we perceive them to be and dream of being. Let us unite in imposing these rules for the saplings to grow up into the tall and proud trees of tomorrow, the birds of our dreams who fly high to touch the sky and go beyond.

“Education is not the filling of a pail
It is the lighting of a fire”.
W.B. Yeats

On behalf of the Management and staff of St. Xavier’s Institution, I hereby extend a warm welcome to all my founder parents  and the new ones.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents for choosing to entrust their child to us.  We undertake to educationally empower our students, at the same time making sure that there is an all-round development in them.

The school as the beacon of education promotes planning, setting and reaching concrete and achievable goals, working harder and smarter and taking our school and student achievement to the next level of “greatness”.  Greatness without love and concern is useless.  We continue to strive for excellence, side by side channelizing our students to flow through the path of love, understanding and compassion, justice with care, mercy and forgiveness.

The best and most beautiful thing in the world cannot be seen or even touched.  They must be felt by heart.  We in school prepare the blooming buds for future roles in society by stressing on moral values.  Education is the combination of literacy and values of life.  Children who learn here might forget the subject taught here but not the moral values which are inculcated.  It is important that parents too teach their children values of life.  Without these lessons and parental guidance, children when they grow up may equate everything with money in today’s ultra modern materialistic society.  Once our values are clear only then we start making right decision.

I would share with you what Michelangelo, the famous sculptor and poet said, “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free”.

Our glorious performance
