My dear and respected fellow travellers on the path of enlightenment, I welcome you aboard the ship of learning that will take us all through this never ending quest. Fasten your seat-belts and join us on one of the most interesting and exhilarating, excruciatingly painful yet ecstatically joyous adventure named Human building.
You have been through the pain of childbirth, the excitement of the child’s first step. The revelation of the first spoken word and the grand renewal of yourselves inherent in your child’s first day at school. Through all the breathless waits and sleepless nights you spent for your child, you have reached here today and like so many years in the past, the SXI family is here to share the baton with you on the next leg of the eternal relay race against time that is building up of the Human Being who lies hidden in the raw clay that the children are.
Right at the outset, I as one of the members of the SXI family have the honour and pleasure of opening the door and accepting you all as new members and the duty of introducing you to an outline of what may lie ahead of us in this voyage across the uncharted sea of Human endeavour to reach the shore of Humanity.
First of all my dear comrades in learning, do not expect smooth sailing. As I have already said and now reiterate with stress, the sea ahead is uncharted. There are as yet unfathomed depths of the human mind that eludes our imagination. Please do not make the mistake of underestimating the child on the basis of academic performance. While it remains an important benchmark, we at SXI never ever limit our endeavours to producing facts-churning and marks-earning automatons. We aim for an all round development of the persona. In this direction, I as a parent would like to share my experience with you that better results are obtained by letting your ward choose their own path than forcing your own preconceived ideas of “Success” on them. Please try to be their best friends and support them in building that dream house or painting that picturesque scenery even when they might have failed in Maths. There might be another Hussain in the making. Please take them to their favourite pitch for practice even when they have not done so well in their History Class Test. Tomorrow, you may take pride in being addressed as the parent of the captain of the national cricket team. Please, we need our C.V.Ramans, Tagores and Amartya Sens, but equally needed are our Tendulkars, Zakir Hussains and Lata Mangeshkars but above all, we need our Netajis, Bhagat Singhs, Pritilata Waddedars and Lakshmibais.
Here at SXI, we dream of them. We dream of a nation standing tall in her own right, staring at the world in the eye and saying, “Avajananti Mam mudha manusim tanum asritam
Param bhavam ajanato mama bhuta-maheswaram”
Meaning “When I descend in my personal form deluded persons are unable to recognize Me. They do not know the divinity of My personality as the Supreme Lord of all beings”.
At SXI, you are going to be part of this endeavour, friends. At SXI, together we are the guardians of the future of this great nation.
Let us vow not to fight while trying to find what is right.
Let us vow never to blame while trying to hold aloft the future’s flame.
Let the journey begin. Let us all chant together the prayer for deliverance.
” Om Asato Maa sadgamaya
Tamaso Maa jyotirgamaya
Mrityor Maa amritam gamaya
Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih……
